Women's Circle

This is a monthly drop-in group offering a supportive place to ask questions and to share our experience of the dharma. After a brief period of seated meditation, we begin with a reading or special topic, followed by group discussion.

All who identify as women are welcome, from any spiritual background. No previous experience with meditation is necessary.

Here is a list of some texts we will be using to generate and guide discussions:

  • The Hidden Lamp: Stories from Twenty-Five Centuries of Awakened Women
  • Buddhism after Patriarchy by Rita Gross
  • Dreaming Me: Black, Baptist, and Buddhist by Jan Willis

Meetings are from 1:00 to 2:30, generally held on the fourth Sunday of the month. Occasionally as a result of Holidays and other events, it is necessary to change the date. If you want to check on schedule, current texts or activities, or anything else about the group, please contact Sally Landrum or Charli Vogt.

The women's Circle for Sunday Oct.27, 2019 will continue our discussion of Rita Gross's book, Buddhism Beyond Gender:  Liberation From Attachment to Identity.  We will be discussing Chapters 4 & 5.  You do not need to have read the book to join the discussion.
