Metta (Loving Kindness)
A one-day meditation retreat with Richard Skoonberg

Saturday November 4, 2017

During this one-day retreat, we will offer an introduction to Metta practice. Metta is the Pali term for “loving kindness.” The Dalai Lama says, “My religion is loving kindness.” Sharon Salzberg titled her famous book. “Loving Kindness, The Revolutionary Art of Happiness.”

What is it and how can it enhance our lives? Is it revolutionary? We all want to be more loving, but how do we begin? We will explore these questions in this one-day retreat. This will be a full day of sitting and walking meditation practice, with time for group discussions. All are welcome, no previous experience with meditation required.

If you are new to meditation practice and find the sitting periods too difficult, you are welcome to quietly take a break. Scheduled breaks are short due to the limited space; if you need extra time please take it when you need it.

Please maintain silence.
