Practice Compassion in Action: Join Our 2026 Community Service Projects

Sister sanghas, Red Clay and Peach Blossom, collaborate to bring Buddhist values off the cushion and into the world through compassionate service. Rooted in the principles of generosity, kindness, and the alleviation of suffering, service projects offer meaningful ways to connect with community — and each other.

Whether you're a long-time practitioner or simply moved to lend a hand; whether you're a sangha member, an occasional visitor, or the friend of family member of anyone; whether you're a Buddhist or a Christian or a Muslim, or any other "ist", whether you've ever attended either Red Clay or Peach Blossom or not, you're warmly invited to join us. Come be part of something bigger than yourself.

We typically arrange an event every couple of months, and these are individually scheduled on Red Clay's calendar. To find out more about our upcoming activities, visit our calendar, and sign up for our newsletter.

Prior Service Projects:

Our objective is to build sustainable relationships, and to engage in service projects with a small group of servcice organizations on an ongoing basis. Those we have worked with include:

Bashor Homeless Men’s Shelter. We prepare 30+ Daytime Lunch sacks for Bashor guests and volunteers ahead of time, and visit the shelter on a Saturday evening to reheat, serve and plate the food.

Nicholas House, a rehabilitation center for unhoused families. We oreoare dinner for 40 guests and volunteers at Nicholas House. ahead of time (at a sangha memnber's home), and a day or two later take the food to Nicholas House to reheat, plate, serve and eat a meal together.

Other activities include: Underwear and socks drive for Atlanta Mission, Food Drive for Toco Hills Alliance, December Socks and Christmas Cards event for Bashor Homeless Men’s Shelter and delivering and serving food with Casa Alterna
