Women's Circle
This is a monthly drop-in group offering a supportive place to ask questions and to share our experience of the dharma. After a brief period of seated meditation, we begin with a reading or special topic, followed by group discussion. We are currently meeting via Zoom (using the Sunday morning connection: Click here to join. Alternatively go to https://zoom.us/, click the links to enter a meeting, and enter meeting ID 971-373-141 and password 879550).
All who identify as women are welcome, from any spiritual background. No previous experience with meditation is necessary.
In addition to poetry written by Buddhist women, we are currently using Koans from two different books written by women:
- The Hidden Lamp: Stories from Twenty-Five Centuries of Awakened Women, Edited by Florence Caplow and Susan Moon.
- The Book of Householder Koans: Waking Up in the Land of Attachments, written by Eve Myonen Marko and Wendy Egyoku Nakao.
Meetings are from 1:00 to 2:30, held on the fourth Sunday of the month. Occasionally as a result of holidays and other events, it is necessary to change the date. If you want to check on schedule, current texts or activities, or anything else about the group, please contact Sally Landrum or Charli Vogt. We have an email list that we would be glad to add you to. We generally send out a reminder email the week before the meeting.
