Red Clay Sangha is delighted to hold the first in what we anticipate will be an ongoing series of educational and study sessions. Elizabeth Gibson has generously offered to take the lead in preparing and leading this program.

We begin with a half-day Buddhist Study Session on the Five Aggregates on Saturday, January 19th, 2019, at the Chamblee practice center from 10 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

About The Class

What are the Five Aggregates (in Pali, the Khandhas)? How can understanding them lead us on the path to liberation? Join the study group as we use excerpts from the suttas and interpretations from Buddhist scholars and practitioners to discuss what they are, how they work together and how they can help us on the path. Handouts will be provided and material presented by Elizabeth; the group will listen to a short excerpt from an excellent Insight practitioner and teacher; there will be discussion/Q&A periods; and there will be silent practice periods where we work with the five aggregates during meditation.

A simple vegetarian lunch will be provided; it will probably be in silence so we can practice with the aggregates.
