About The Class

"Bhikkhus," said the Blessed One, "All is burning....Burning with what? Burning with the fire of greed, with the fire of hate, with the fire of delusion."

In this study session, we'll read through the Buddha's Fire Sermon and related suttas on the three fires (also frequently referred to as the "three poisons"), along with commentary from a variety of teachers and meditators to help us consider and digest the teachings.

We'll also explore the internal and external conditions that give rise to greed, ill-will and delusion, and we'll also explore what the burning feels like inside ourselves, and some practices and teachings that can help us put the fires out. There will be multiple meditation sittings as well as multiple opportunities for discussion and Q&A.

The session is free and a simple vegetarian lunch and snacks are also free.

When: Saturday, October 12th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Where:

The Red Clay Sangha at 3420 W. Hospital Ave. Ste 102 Chamblee, GA 30341
