Mindfulness: The Sense Gate of Sound

One-Day Retreat (Hybrid) with Charli Vogt

Saturday, August 19, from  9:00 to 5:00

There will be an emphasis during this day on the sense gate of sound.  We will be building on the retreat given by Ayya Dhammadipa in June about the six sense gates.

Charli Vogt

Charli Vogt has been a spiritual seeker as long as she can remember, through Lutheran Catechism, Pagan studies, Feminist spirituality and Buddhism.  Her former work as a nurse midwife is a major influence in her orientation to the body as a vehicle to spiritual realization.  She has been studying Buddhism intensely since 2007, when she received the precepts from Thich Nhat Hanh and has studied with multiple Vipassana and Thai Forest teachers.  She has more recently studied Zen, attending talks and presentations at Upaya Zen Center (Zoom). She is currently studying  personally with Sensei Shun’E Ulrike Greenway (zoom), and reading Dogen’s Shobogenzo with Kanshin Svani Grevemeyer (her daughter) and the Lotus Sutra with a group of women.
