Dharma Study Session
Identifying Karmic Issues
During Red Clay Sangha’s Sunday Service, we recite the Repentance Gatha:
All my past and harmful karma Born of beginningless greed, anger, and ignorance Through body, speech, and mind I now fully avow
In this three-hour Dharma Study session, we will discuss what karma is, what it isn't, and how to change it. To do so, we will focus on selected suttas about karma from the Buddha found in the Pali Canon.
As we begin to recognize how karma manifests in our behaviors, speech, and thoughts, we can perceive the effects of skillful and unskillful actions. Skillful responses predispose us to act more skillfully the next time. Seeing karmic issues allows for this change and shapes us to live a more compassionate, generous, and wise life.
