In Person and On Zoom

Are you new to Meditation, Buddhism, or to Red Clay Sangha?

This two-hour Introductory Class, offered simultaneously on Zoom and in person, provides a practical introduction to meditation and Buddhist practice, as well as to the community and practices of Red Clay Sangha. In our two hours together we will cover the following areas;

  • Short history and evolution of Buddhism;
  • Overview of major Buddhist schools and practices;
  • Instructions for seated meditation (using a chair, a cushion or a bench; personal posture suggestions);
  • 20 minutes meditation, beginning with guided meditation practice;
  • Overview of Red Clay Sangha and introduction to services, practices and community.

There will be plenty of opportunity during the class for questions and answers and for group discussion.

In person attendees, please arrive 5-10 minutes before the class begins to help us get everyone oriented and settled in the room. If you are joining us by Zoom, we ask that you have your camera on and think of the experience as an interactive process. All are welcome, and there is no need to register (...though registration is available as an option, should you wish to indicate!).

Note: for in person attendance, please come to our physical location at 3315 Chamblee Dunwoody Road. For Zoom attendance, click here to join on our regular Zoom link.
