This gentle, alignment-based workshop is designed to help you practice seated meditation with more ease and minimal discomfort. Although yoga postures (asanas) can be beneficial for anyone, they are especially helpful for those of us who sit for long periods of time. Practicing alignment of the spine and joints allows energy to flow more freely through the body.
After sitting together, we’ll move through a range of asanas for increasing and maintaining strength, flexibility, and balance. We’ll conclude our morning with another brief period of sitting, followed by lunch at a neighborhood restaurant if you wish. Suitable for all levels, even beginners! Bring curiosity and a yoga mat, if you have one.
Sally Landrum has practiced both seated meditation and yoga for many years, finding that the practices complement and strengthen one another. She teaches yoga through The Dharma Project, working primarily with community elders and people who are incarcerated. She received her RYT 200 Level yoga teaching certification from Rutu Chaudari of All Life is Yoga.
