Overview and Event
The Red Clay and Peach Blossom sanghas are delighted to announce the launch of our latest community service project seeking to help housing-insecure members of the local Atlanta community by assembling 25 backpack care packages (each requiring $20 for a total of $500).
We invite you to join us in this compassionate and worthwhile effort by participating in the assembly of the packages the afternoon of July 6th (please invite friends or family to join this community event, when you may also write a note of support that will be included in a care package), or by contributing either material items or monetary donations.
The majority of these care packages will be delivered to HOPE Atlanta (link), a local non-profit organization experienced in distributing care packages to housing-insecure individuals. Additionally, some sangha members have expressed interest in personally delivering backpacks to those they encounter on a daily basis.
How Your Donations Will Make a Difference
Your donations will help us purchase essential items in bulk from wholesale vendors. Every monetary contribution, regardless of the amount, will have a significant impact on those in need. See the chart below for an example of how even the smallest donation can provide necessary supplies to those in need.
We also graciously welcome material donations of the following items, provided they are clean and in good condition. Please ensure that any hygiene products are sealed in their original packaging for the health and safety of the recipients.
Supplies will be ordered a week prior to assembly, ensuring everything is ready for the project.
