Saturday, Dec 14, 2024, from 4:00 to 6:30pm

In Person at the Sangha (Hospital Drive)

We’re eager to announce the next Mindful Moments Monthly event for December. This time, we will be watching the Christmans Carol (The Muppet edition). As always, this event is open to the general public, and we highly encourage you to invite others to watch this treasured anime classic. The viewing will be held at Red Clay from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Dec, 14. Snacks and tea will be provided for the benefit of all beings.

About the Film

This holiday season, we invite you to gather with the Sangha for a special screening of The Muppet Christmas Carol! This beloved adaptation of Charles Dickens’ classic tale, brought to life by the whimsical charm of the Muppets, weaves humor, music, and heartfelt lessons into a timeless story of transformation and compassion.

The Muppet Christmas Carol: The Illustrated Holiday Classic

At its core, A Christmas Carol is a story of awakening. Ebenezer Scrooge’s journey from greed and isolation to generosity and connection mirrors themes found in the Dhamma: the impermanence of all things, the power of self-reflection, and the liberation found in opening one’s heart to others. Through the humor and warmth of the Muppets, the film invites us to reflect on our own capacity for change and kindness in daily life.

Whether you’re familiar with the story or experiencing it for the first time, this film offers a joyful reminder of the potential for goodness and generosity that resides within us all. Come and enjoy an evening of laughter, community, and contemplation with your fellow practitioners.

About the Mindful Moments Cultural Event Series

These gatherings take place monthly on a Saturday afternoon and feature a variety of activities, including hiking, art, music, crafts, games, movies, and more. Our aim is to provide a relaxed setting where individuals can share their interests with others, while also building community. All are welcome.
