Intro to Buddhism by Havana and Holly

Curious about Buddhism but not sure where to start? Join us for a class where we will engage in discussion around the basic concepts and a short, guided meditation.

Buddhist teachings are pragmatic and applicable to everyone, so we welcome people of all backgrounds!

This class will be led by Havana Nguyen and Holly Theisen-Jones.

Havana Nguyen has been an active member of Red Clay Sangha for two years. A former workaholic in the tech industry and self-proclaimed party girl, she has found the Dharma to be an invaluable guide for navigating life's challenges and cultivating inner peace. At Red Clay, Havana contributes to graphics and community service projects. In addition to being a devoted mom to a one-year-old, she is the lead character artist for an award-winning graphic novel series and a seasoned User Experience Designer. Holly Theisen-Jones has been practicing Buddhism since 2020 and took precepts at Red Clay Sangha in 2023. She recently changed careers to become a mental health counselor specializing in grief and loss. At Red Clay, Holly serves on the Sangha care committee and helps facilitate Peach Blossom Sangha, a group that practices in the Plum Village Tradition of Thich Nhat Hanh.
