The Bhagavad Gita for Buddhists

(Dharma Study Session)

with Deborah Monroy

June 7th, 2025, 9:00 to noon, Zoom only

The Gita is a sacred text that passionately invites us to live a dispassionate life.

The story is immersive, experiential—let’s share our experiences on 7 June.

This very short book contains beliefs central to various Hindu religions along with many beliefs—and dilemmas--that we as Buddhists encounter.

We’ll look at:

What it is (backstory around the book); who we are (the Gita’s belief system seems often--Buddhist); and then--what should we do?

How does the dialogue between Krishna and Arjuna reflect their friendship? What insights do we find that resonate with us in our daily lives?

This dharma talk will include brief periods of meditation along with time for questions, remarks—and contradictions.
